Nolan was Nominated!

Nolan was nominated for "Best Achievement in Non-Verbal Communication" and screened at the Animazing Spotlight Short Film Festival on September 4th and 5th at Woodbury University, Burbank, California.

Lighting Concepts

We have not rendered depth of field yet. Lilly, in the foreground will be out of focus slightly. A lot of credit to these two scenes goes to Tyler Lancaster in these two shots because he developed a simple lighting technique that is a lot less expensive in render times than the previous method we were going to use. And of course it looks beautiful.

About a minute per frame, combined. 38 sec for the diffuse (2 lights). 35 sec for Scatter (2 lights)

We also used a pinked colored background in the open GL to help fill in the shadows. Select camera, change background color from black to pink.

I really like this color and full body softness we get with a spot light, back-lighting him.

This gives us a lot to work with in post. It was a real help in removing the green shadows.

I'm looking for something like this.
